Drinks
NY-inspired cocktails on and off the menu, beers and liquer aside, make way for the delicious Organic house wine. The white wine was a soft, fruity, medium-bodied blend that pairs well with mains and dessert.
Food:
Appetizers
Amidst all the unique combinations of fresh organic flavors, two stood out Burrata cheese & the king prawns.
The pan-seared king prawns, tender and cooked with a delicate char were drizzled with a zesty vinaigrette that popped it off the plate. Then came the burrata – complementing the creamy texture of the cheese, a theatrical crispy sesame seed studded cracker, fresh cherry tomatoes and earthy mixed greens completed the Italian Burrata party.
Entrees
The pre-ranged grilled chicken breast served with caramelized figs, aged feta and Cajun mayo was a curious combination at first sight. The chicken, slightly tough, with the simple flavors of garlic and lemon, needs a lather of the creamy mayo and charred veggies.
For the vegetarians in the house, the Artisan ravioli stuffed with beetroot & mascarpone with pea foam & sage butter is well worth a try. The pea foam adds a much-needed layer of savory lightness to the heavy and sweet beetroot.
Dessert
The Cheesecake.
Presented in a 3-tier tower glass, the rich and light cream cheese, and the smoky almond crumble were in tune enough, but were turned into a symphony with a tangy passion fruit syrup. If you only go to Tribeca for the drinks, don’t skip dessert.
Ambience and Service
Don’t trip over the fire hydrant!
True to the neighborhood in lower Manhattan, the lounge is lively yet laidback, adorned with contemporary pop art, graffiti-style walls in the balcony, mismatched chairs and funky-looking lamps hanging from the ceiling. Add to that a swanky bar and you have your regular weekend [or Monday] hangout joint. Be sure to put on your finest casuals.
The service staff is attentive, knowledge-able about the organic elements of each dish and enthusiastic overall.
Verdict: A creative and edgy space, great for social gatherings with great wine.
