If you work in the creative industries in the Gulf, this collective is here to support you – creatively, emotionally and financially!
Gulf Creative Collective is a virtual network enabling creative nourishment, professional growth, and increased collaboration amongst its members. Founded by Bhoomika Ghaghada and Tarun Shyam in April 2020, it is modeled after successful member-led communities in New York City.
All creatives are welcome to join, free-of-charge. It functions primarily through a Slack group, where members can introduce themselves, get creative feedback, send requests for collaborations, find people at organizations they are interested in, and ask questions (about work culture, room for growth, salaries, creative or technical process, pitches).
Two other supportive elements offer additional: A newsletter with curated creative job listings, resources for skill-building (where to learn what), and sourced networking opportunities (virtual and physical).
The virtual workshops, are planned around useful skills and tending to creativity that lives outside work—in literature, in others, in trying new things. Slated workshops for the summer include: Painting with an art therapist, how to have meaningful conversations, and a guided meditation for creatives.
