Zpizza Dubai offers a slice of sunny California right here in Dubai with their new outlet in Barsha.

If you’re looking for healthier pizza – yes, you read that right – this Californian pizza chain has got you covered. They promise artisanal pies using organic ingredients and part-skimmed mozzarella cheese.

Along with rustic pizzas, Zpizza offers gourmet salads and sandwiches. We got their pear and gorgonzola salad and were immediately won over.

Crisp greens topped with a perfect marriage between pear and a wonderfully sharp gorgonzola cheese, tied together with a tart balsamic dressing, made for a delicious salad.

So Many Pizzas!

If you’ve had wheat crust on pizza before, you might understand how excited (and relieved) we were to discover the lack of a cardboard-like texture.

Interestingly enough, we preferred this wheat base over the regular; it was slightly thicker yet light and airy, easily making it the best wheat crust we’ve had.

This was the Tuscan Mushroom pizza, featuring a delicate hint of truffle and three different kinds of mushrooms, paired perfectly with the sweetness of caramelized onions.

The apparent bestseller, Zbq Chicken, did not live up to expectations. Although it was more flavorful and not drenched in barbecue sauce like it is at most places, it’s nothing to write home about.

On the other hand, the California Veggie looked promising. It’s easy to mess up a vegetarian pizza, but Zpizza did this one well; simple, fresh, and delightful.

Healthy & Delicious

Overall, Zpizza is the ideal option if you’re struggling with some holiday weight but refuse to tuck away those pizza cravings. With their gluten-free options, they might appeal to the growing number of fitness enthusiasts in the city.

It may just be our preference, but opt for a wheat crust instead and you may be pleasantly surprised.

• Parking might be an issue in the little lanes of Barsha, so we recommend having it delivered and settling for a cozy day in with some guilt-free(ish) pizza.
