B-Change talks to Jonas Blue ahead of his gig at Zero Gravity Dubai as part of  their power packed winter line-up.

With over 350 million streams behind him, Jonas Blue will be in control on Friday (October 15, 2016) at Zero Gravity Dubai.

Born and raised in London, multi-instrumentalist Jonas Blue has so far taken the music industry by storm. A true dance vibe, but with pop sensibilities, it’s clear to see that he has cleverly crafted a sound which fills the void that so many are craving for.

His debut release Fast Car features the incredible young vocal talent, Dakota and is already a certified global smash. The track is also the number one best selling single of the year from a UK artist so far.

It has also received multi-platinum status across the world, having sold 3 million records, with the official video rapidly closing in on 100 million YouTube streams.

1. With multiple songs peaking across the world, how do you deal with the pressure to belt out hit after hit? 

Honestly, I thrive on the pressure – it gives me focus and inspiration to go into the studio and deliver. I’ve been making music for such a long time that it’s such a natural part of my life, like eating or sleeping (laughs).

I’ve heard.. [Dubai] is a real party crowd, with a mix of expats and locals and a lot of people who work very hard, but also play very hard.

2. Is there a formula to having your song streamed 300 million times on Spotify?

It’s all about having something that grabs people instantly and is unique. I think the vocals are key, both Dakota and JP have special voices that are completely unique to them – that definitely helps. The most important thing is of course the song.

3. Zero Gravity is a pretty special venue. Looking forward to playing to a pool and beach side crowd?

I’ve heard such great things about it. Outdoor parties are always so much fun, nothing beats the vibe of partying in the open air. Actually, when I just starting touring, we made a list of clubs I wanted to perform at and Zero Gravity was top of the list!

4. Any advice to artists who are starting out?

Focus on the music and be passionate about it. Don’t focus on money, make amazing music and the money will come. Be creative and put the hours in. You have to want it more than anything else in life!

6. What’s in store for your Zero Gravity set?

I have a couple of special edits I’ve done specifically for this party and will be bringing the Jonas Blue energy to Dubai. Don’t expect anything mellow, I’m there to make Zero Gravity rock!!

7. What are your pre-concert rituals?

Nothing particular – I don’t meditate or anything, just like to hang out and hear the dj before me so I know where the vibe is at and which tunes they’ve been dropping.
