1. For the adventurous: Traveler’s Festival
Listen to the dreamy tales of travellers who have gone far and wide on foot, in cars, in bicycles, boats, planes, camels and more [We’re not kidding – a man who rode his bicycle form Tunisia to China is going to be there]. With workshops, film screenings, talks and contests, the travel bug will bite you several times while you’re there.

5. For the festive: Souk Festive Market @ Madinat Jumeirah
A personal favorite, we must admit. From the moment you walk onto the venue, strangely, you’re in both Dubai and at the North Pole. A giant Santa Claus smiles down at you from beside a massive christmas tree while you listen to christmas carols. Little wooden huts with hosts in santa hats handing out treats and hot beverages. This year, there’s an ice rink, bungee jumping and a cooking class with Lindt chocolatier Matther Muller.
