Vinicius Quesada, a street artist from Brazil, paints with his own blood. He says “there’s nothing satanic or spiritual about it.” He likes to add shock value to his artwork, and has a series called Blood Piss Blues where he uses blood and urine to make his paintings. As absurd as this may sound, there is method to the madness – the red of the blood, the yellow of the urine and the dark blue paint he uses, is a reference to the RGB system of color [Red-Green-Blue].
He says: “People often want to offer me their blood, but I advise them to donate it to blood banks, which need it much more than art.”
