Staff Writer ME Art Community ,,,,,,

Culture and tradition in the Arab World are closely tied with food. These pictures take us behind-the-scenes of some of our favourite street food.

National Geographic Abu Dhabi hosted the 6th Moments exhibition, following the competition this summer, showcasing the top Arab photography talent at The Empty Quarter DIFC, themed ‘Food and the traditions of eating in the Arab World’.

Moments 2016 featured the top three winners and their compositions with a selection of photographs from the top 50 shortlisted entries. The 2016 winners are: Mohamed Benmokhtar of Morocco, Mohamed Albadaai from Oman and Mohamad Nasr from Egypt.

The National Geographic Moments Awards supports budding photographers, calling on them to share stories through their cameras with a single image based on a theme and inspired moment.

It gives them an opportunity to display their best work and master their craft for a chance to catch the eye of  potential clients.

You don’t have to be a DSLR owner to enter –  images from smartphones and other technology was welcomed in this edition.

The competition was organized in partnership with Al Marai for the fourth year in a row.
