The Yasalam 2015 Festival is known for one thing: non-stop adrenaline. With so many activities, entertainment and sporting challenges in one city, it can be overwhelming to plan your race weekend. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with the top five activities based on your weekend goals:

1. A high octane musical experience

You want to hit up the famed Yasalam After-Race Concerts over at the du Arena, regional superstars will be joined by some of the biggest names in music for four days of exceptional entertainment. On Thursday, Lebanese electronic master DJ Said Mrad will take the stage with Aryam, Fares Karam and Cheb Khaled for an action-packed opening night on Thursday, November 26th. On Friday, November 27th, international superstar Enrique Iglesias will keep hearts pumping after the race track before flame-hair songstress Florence + the Machine takes audiences to the next level of entertainment on Saturday, November 28th. The final night on Sunday, November 29th, Britpop legends blur will be joined by up and coming indie star Barns Courtney for an explosive ending to the Yasalam experience with awe-inspiring closing ceremony.

2. A new fitness challenge

If you’re the type to always reach for the next Spartan Race or desert challenge, look no further than a fun – and free – way to take your fitness to the next level across the Capital. Get Driver Fit returns for its third year and brings to Abu Dhabi seven weeks of free fitness activities. If you can only visit during the race weekend, look no further than the Abu Dhabi Corniche for the ultimate fitness test in the Obstacle Course Challenge. Or work up a sweat with a breathtaking view at the new Muscle Beach and Fitness Zone open through Sunday, November 29th.

 3.    A touch of tradition

For those who want to explore the unique and rich heritage of the UAE, look no further than the Pit Stop Plaza on Yas Island. Located on the Yas Plaza and open free to the public throughout the race weekend, the plaza will show visitors where the track meets tradition in a fun-filled setting where adults and children can relax,  play games or experience cultural and interactive activities in a festival style atmosphere.

4.    Homegrown UAE talent

Yasalam Emerging Talent Competition: FLASH Wants To Hear Your Music

For those that prefer to delve into the unique Abu Dhabi culture, homegrown talent is in abundance down on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The Urban Art Zone has returned to the Corniche activities with new talents on display from across the Emirates, including inspirations for incorporating art into your daily life, starting from November 19th and running through the race weekend. Over at the fan favourite F1 FanZone™, those looking for the up and comers in GCC racing can keep an eye on the scoreboard of the interactive games and stay up to date with high definition TVs across the zone showing off the day’s races.

For a special snapshot into the musical talent that abounds in the UAE, make sure to catch the three finalists for Yasalam’s newest aspect, the Emerging Talent Competition. Playing on the F1 FanZone™ Stage through the November 19th weekend, the three will go head to head on Sunday, November 21st for a chance to perform in front of thousands at Volkswagen’s Beats on the Beach.

 

5. A beach party that never stops

Famed across the UAE for the largest, free music event of the year Volkswagen presents Beats on the Beach has brought countless local, regional and international acts straight to the heart of Abu Dhabi and this year is better than ever with rocking performances Thursday through Saturday every evening on the sand. On Thursday, November 26th, the newly joined Tove Lo will perform alongside the Filipino heartthrob Bamboo and Emirati star Fayez Al Saeed while on Friday November 27th, Carl and the Reda Mafia joins West Coast singer Jhené Aiko, spinmaster Trey ‘AcE’ Smith, soulful rapper J.Cole, Lebanese king of romance Wael Kfoury and UAE star Omar Al Marzooqi. The final night will be one the Corniche and you won’t soon forget with regional songstress Arwa and hip hop queen Malikah set the stage for electric superstars Faithless – whose 20th anniversary tour with lasers, live musicians and top beats promises to rock from back to front.

In addition to a wide array of shops and fun within a beautiful architectural design, the stars of Yasalam will be sure to stop by for the second year of Yas Mall Studio – the ultimate fan experience. Set in the heart of the mall, the Yasalam studio let fans see their favourite artists up close and personal with live interviews and appearances.  Throughout the race weekend music stars like Cheb Khaled, DJ Said Mrad, Fares Karam, Aryam, Arwa, Omar Al Marzooqi, Tove Lo, Faithless and several others are confirmed to visit Yas Mall Studio this year.
