Jason Deruloooooo

My excitement knew no bounds as America’s Pop Prince Jason Derulo walked in centre stage, taking the lead ahead of his dancers, swinging his white jacket, twirling and jumping right into the chorus of In My Head.

His grand entrance set the tone for Dubai Music Week 2015(DMW) with crowds screaming & women pleading for his attention. The live band picked up the pace steadily, while DJ Joe Murphy elevated the groovy performance with his mix. The four dancers accompanying Jason took street-style dancing to a whole new level.

While his true dance act began with Wiggle, when he swayed and spun like a ballet dancer. From then on, there was no stopping him. The Trumpets got people moving while they also presented an all new music video for the track. However, the blaring crowds made it impossible for him to deliver a loud enough pep talk. But who cares right?

As he made his way through The Other Side, he never missed a step. Live, his vocals were impressive as he hit the falsetto notes just right.

After the little outbursts of incredible dance routines, Jason reserved the best moves for the climax of Whatcha Say, break dancing like Michael Jackson 2.0. Then again, he definitely wasn’t Ridin’ Solo as he was backed by an impeccable team.

Derulo’s enthusiasm and dance moves made this live performance a delight to watch – electric even. Not a man in the house was standing still.

The supporting act by Two Tone accompanied by Kris Fade seemed like a blessing in disguise, saving the crowd from the live DJ, who played one predictable track after another. Dubai-based rap artist, Two Tone delivered his smash hit Mind On Me, warming up the crowd for Jason to takeover.

The performance reached the crescendo with the finale Pull Up, which continues to reverberate in our ears even now.
