DUBAI – One of Dubai’s favourite live-music traditions, the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® is set to begin tomorrow with platinum selling singer – songwriter James Blunt headlining the first night. The festival surpasses being just a concert and is more of a lifestyle-art festival. The headliners for the other nights in order of their performances include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame entrant Sting (Feb 26) and the chart-topping John Legend (Feb 27).

You maybe used to a particular format the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® follows, however this year it is literally expanding its reach. The Jazz festival will be spread across the city of Dubai. Starting on the 19th February and for nine days, the Urban Sessions will be hosted at Trader Vic’s Souk Madinat, Frankie’s Italian The Walk JBR, Up On The Tenth Jazz Bar at Radisson Blu Deira Creek and Jazz@PizzaExpress, Cluster A, Jumeirah Lake Tower and will give jazz funs and foodies an opportunity to enjoy the ambience and music of the festival grounds in some of the finest restaurants that the city has to offer.

And ticket holders for the closing night of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® 2015 will be the world’s first to sway to its rhythm during the debut live performance by composer and singer John Legend of the Middle East Mix for All Of Me. The track is a unique composition by acclaimed Arab music producer Jean Marie Riachi, fusing some of the region’s leading Arabic instrumentalists with musicians from across the Gulf performing a multitude of instruments and percussion to Legend’s original “All of Me” vocal arrangement.

The recent Golden Globes Award winner, John Legend, won’t be the only living legend to grace the Dubai Media City venue for the 13th edition of the UAE’s longest-running live music event as 16-time Grammy award-winning sensation Sting will have taken the stage the night before with a selection of some of his greatest hits including ‘Desert Rose’, ‘Englishman in New York’ from his solo career and some of The Police’s most popular classics ‘Message In A Bottle’ which helped the band to secure a place in The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

The three male acts will be supported in order of appearances by American singer-songwriter and musician Christina Perri in her Middle East debut, American violinist, dancer, performance artist and composer Lindsey Stirling and jazz bassist, cellist, singer and Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding.

In total six top-class artists, three nights of exquisite musical appeal, one big event promise to excite the expected 36,000 fans with their diverse styles of music and on-stage performances bringing enough choice and talent for Dubai’s discerning concert goers to choose from.
