Find out about the duo, Eli & Fur, who will be playing at Zero Gravity Dubai this Friday.

British duo Eli & Fur aka Eliza and Jennifer are Londoners and called themselves ‘opposites.’ Eli, initially interested in pursuing a future as a singer-songwriter at open mic nights, loved Michael Jackson, and Fur was a gung-ho electronic-head liking Depeche Mode and raucous drum and bass gigs, came together at age 16 in London.

With lots of mutual musician friends, they became roommates and started combining their sounds and playing for mates’ parties. The basis for their tracks are well pitched reedy vocals, layered and accented with effects, filters, cuts and edits coupled with deep house rhythms, and are getting increasingly into darker driving Tech House.

We’ve picked a few pieces of their music for you to get an idea what you would be hearing on the weekend of the 16th March as they make their way to the magical land of sand.

This track is what it says on the tin.  The duo teamed up with Mancunians OC & Verde, crowned Pete Tong’s “New Names for 2018”.  Well produced, this beat is based on 808 rims and claps has deep sub bass, and moving 80s style synth arpeggiators.  Their vocals have an airy delay and reverb, echoing and reminding of mermaids calling out from the sea.

From 2014, a must-watch video which shows their lifestyle and how they produce their work they take to the club. Collaborations are something they excel at, on this track they paired up with British Rinse FM stalwart Shadow Child, bringing punchy garage vibes and a catchy hook. Eli & Fur are no strangers to Dubai. Previous years saw them at Electric Days/Vibe Series in Dubai Media City with the Third Eye Crew. Since then they’ve been invited by Carl Cox (who lets face it, an invite from him means that you’ve “made it”) to appear at his “Music Is Revolution: The Last Chapter’’ final days of his 15-year residency at Space, Ibiza, and playing at Claptone’s ‘Masquerade’ Stage at Tomorrowland Belgium last summer. What’s more, they were booked for not one, but two different stages at the last Coachella, as well as being announced on the lineup again this summer.

Always liking to keep busy, this weekend you will find them playing just outside of London in Maidstone, Kent, England with the two Fanciulli brothers as part of Ants, a traveling event which originated at Ushaia Ibiza.

Venue wise, its a format that has proven successful at Zero Gravity for a myriad of reasons;  the location is the epitome of Dubai lush experience, the city at its best.  The tech visuals and stage, top class food, service and facilities are worth every penny of the ticket price.  Along with it is the length and variety in format of acts and entertainment; this event opens from 8 AM – 3 AM.

French megastar Kungs will be headlining so you can certainly take advantage by sticking around and catching him as well.  Eli & Fur have got the sweet spot time for their set, at the drenched-for-your-senses ‘sunset hour.’

Until you have experienced one of these in DXB you will never be able to know how magical that can be, so turn up!  This duo may even debut their yet released new track ‘White Sails’ on Ajunadeep label on the day.
