Newly launched with an old-timer feel, The Roxy Boxpark, is a boutique cinema by Meraas, paying homage to the time-honored tradition of going to the movies. The 5-screen cinema epitomises luxury, housing a gourmet bistro offering, a bespoke dining experience for the city’s cultured cinephiles.

With a retro look and feel, deluxe posters of cinema masterpieces embellishing the walls and a single ticket counter set in low-light, the space exudes the vibe of an intimate private member’s club.

True film buffs dressed in their best can also flip through and immerse themselves in the notable collection of iconic cinematic books stored at the in-house library.

In the Bistro, the orange and green velvet chairs, leather booths, lighting and distinctive features such as the wooden bar  have each been carefully selected to create an eclectic feel that catapults people back into time to the original cinema-going days.

It’s good ol’ cinema food, but with a gourmet edge: gourmet popcorn, classic hot dogs, rigatoni with beef ragout, pulled beef, dried tomato and basil pizza, sweet chilli and sesame chicken wings, quinoa tabbouleh, sweet potato and garlic fries, and many more.

You can also try one of The Bistro’s signature drinks, which includes a delicious and sinful salted caramel pretzel and vanilla ice cream milkshake.

The best is on the inside though. Settle into hand-stitched Italian leather trimmed seats, put your feet up on plush footstools, have your coffee on the side tables and cozy up with The Roxy blankets and cushions.

Want a More Personal Experience? Book the Private Screen

The Roxy’s film programme includes not just new releases but also an extensive repertoire of old and new classics which can be enjoyed on demand in a private screen.

Guests who book the private screen can hire out the whole 16 seat-theatre room for themselves, order food and drinks during their movie, and even pause the movie to discuss the feature film with their friends and families.

The Roxy App

The Roxy app which will act as a ‘movie companion’ will be out soon with unique services such as ordering food to your seat and ticketless transactions. Isn’t that luxury galore?
